The Artistic Director - Patrick Abbate

Patrick Abbate, is born in Oristano, Sardinia, he started playing guitar when he was 11.

From when he was 15, he started a professional activity which brought him to play shows in hundreds of Italian square festivals and clubs first, then in several international projects like concerts, studio sessions, clinics and master classes.

He studied classic guitars as private student, experimental composition and electronic music at the conservatory in Cagliari and electric guitar at Percento Musica in Rome.

In 2005 he started an activity as endorser and demonstrator for several brands like Washburn and Randall, which gave him the award as the “Randall and Washburn European Artist of the Year” from the USMusic Corp at the 2007 Winter NAMM in Los Angeles.

Patrick is the owner of Abbate Guitars and he is officially endorsed by Floyd Rose, Seymour Duncan, DR Strings, Stefy Line, Reference, Soldano, Celestion, Morley, Eventide, Alhambra, Stone Tone, MACE String Dampener e Lok n Roll. In January 2009 Patrick moved to Los Angeles where he has his solo career and plays in several American bands like the historical band Culprit, Black Sheep (which had previous band members like Paul Gilbert, Slash, George Lynch, James Kottak etc), Irene Nelson (5 golden discs and 3 Grammy Award in Russia), Kee Marcello (Europe), Megan McCauley (Wind-Up Artist), Roshon Fegan (Disney) etc.

In May 2009 he has been official translator for Steve Vai during his clinic. Patrick has also a steady collaboration with Marco Baz Bazzoni, he has been special guest at Colorado Cafè on the Mediaset national channel Italia 1 in several episodes and he was guest in his CD published by Sony Italy.

After he played tours all over Europe, USA, Canada, South America, Korea and Messico, he published a new solo record “Electric Dreams” classified #53 on the USA iTunes “New Rock Entries” billboard. Produced by David Z Rivkin (historical producer of every album of Prince), with the collaboration of guests as Jeff Lewis (Michael Jackson), Deon Estus (Wham, George Michael, Frank Zappa etc), Philip Bynoe (Steve Vai), Andrew Freeman (Offsprings, Last in Line, Lynchmob etc), Mike Hansen (Hurricane, Steve Vai etc), Troy Patrick Farrell (White Lion, Gilby Clark), Gianluca Tagliavini (PFM) etc.

Many interviews of Patrick are available on specialized Italian magazines like Chitarre, GuitarClub etc. 

The magazine Percussioni wrote about him: ”a Sardinian guitarist with a talent without limits”, the blog “Zio Music” wrote “the Italian guitarist who is teaching Rock to the Americans”.

He thought guitar to many students included some world renown guitar legends.
